Healthwatch Southampton Volunteer Feedback
Matt
Matt volunteers for Healthwatch Southampton as a Voluntary Community Supporter. As part of this role, he supports the staff team with admin task and research as well as being part of the Healthwatch Strategic Group. He has previously worked as a receptionist and completed weekly safety checks at Southampton City Council’s Day Centre in Woolston for people with learning disabilities. He also works for Impact Initiative as trainer with life experience of learning disability, learning difficulties, dyspraxia and dyslexia for the NHS & Social Care staff. Matt supports other organisations across the city including The Advocacy People, Busy People and is on Southampton City Council’s Learning Disability Partnership Board.
Olivia
Olivia has been an invaluable member of the team playing a central role in the transport booklet, access to GP’s survey and most recently the Women’s Health survey.
“Producing the transport booklet for Southampton residents has been a great opportunity that I’ve thoroughly enjoyed. I hope that we can help patients feel less anxious about this part of their healthcare experience, by providing clear and detailed information in an accessible format.”

Healthwatch Community Supporter
Function of the role: To engage your local community and neighbourhood in the work of Healthwatch Southampton, representing local residents and informing the work of the organisation.
Healthwatch Administration Assistant
Function of the role: To provide administrative support to the many activities of Healthwatch Southampton.
Healthwatch Marketing Developer
Function of the role: To aid ongoing development and delivery of the Healthwatch Southampton marketing and communication plan.
Healthwatch Media Tracker
Function of the role: To provide intelligence on emerging and ongoing issues relating to health and social care as portrayed by the media.
