This Thursday 21st November 2019 is national Carers Rights Day. A day used to celebrate the rights of people across the UK who provide invaluable unpaid care and support to a family member or friend in need.
Many people providing care do not consider themselves to be a carer; often providing support to a loved one or neighbour while doing what anyone else would in the same situation. Southampton City Council recognise that carers are extremely important within families and communities and often help those they care for to live independently for longer.
To raise awareness of the different types of caring roles, and the help and support available to carers, Southampton City Council has released a ‘Carer Aware’ E-learning course that can be accessed by both local services and the general public. To increase your knowledge and help identify people in a caring position, why not take the course?
