The NHS and the manufacturing company Vertex Pharmaceuticals are in disagreement over the cost of Orkambi, a drug used to treat cystic fibrosis. The NHS is offering £100 million per year, a sum supported by the Department of Health. Vertex, however, wants £105,000 per patient per year.
