A study has led to the conclusion that a persistent sore throat could be a sign of laryngeal cancer, however, this is in conjunction with other symptoms like shortness of breath, difficulties in swallowing and hoarseness. It is recommended that unless the sore throat is severe enough to go to the GP we should not be too concerned.
