New LGA reports on loneliness and mental health

The Local Government Association have recently published a number of reports on how you can ensure your local council are tackling issues such as loneliness and improving mental health. The Jo Cox Commission report makes recommendations for local action, and indicates that local leaders in councils, the wider public sector and business have a critical role in tackling loneliness. It also advises that council leaders need to understand the levels of loneliness in their areas and set out plans for action.

Another report looks at how local government is making a vital contribution to promoting good mental health in individuals and communities by working smartly and imaginatively with partners to promote mental wellbeing.
