The CQC have released their annual report and accounts that reflects on their achievements in 2017/18 and their improved performance.
In 2017/18 they have for the first time been able to build on their baseline understanding of the quality of health and social care. They have started monitoring, inspecting and rating using their new intelligence-driven approach, targeting inspections where they see that the quality of care has changed.
